Solar Charging

Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Solarman system. Solar surplus charging made easy.

Dynamic Tariffs

Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.

Cloud Integration

No hardware required. Connect your Solarman and Easee via cloud APIs in minutes.

Solarman + Easee: TL;DR

Yes, Solarman and Easee work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Solarman system through SOLARMAN Smart and controls your Easee charger through the Easee cloud. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.

In practice

  • Zerofy adjusts the charging current of your Easee charger but doesn’t switch phases. On a three-phase connection, solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V); on a single-phase connection about 1.4 kW.
  • Solarman systems range from balcony kits to rooftop systems (0.8–12 kW). A balcony system never reaches the 1.4 kW needed to start charging; a rooftop system of a few kW does on bright days, and three-phase charging needs about 4.1 kW.
  • Zerofy gets new Solarman data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
  • If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
  • Easee needs at least 6 A to start, which is about 1.4 kW on one phase and 4.1 kW on three. If the charger’s phase mode is set to automatic, Zerofy warns you and plans with the three-phase minimum until Easee reports single-phase charging; a fixed single-phase setting lets charging start from about 1.4 kW, but caps it at about 3.7 kW.

What Solarman and Easee offer on their own

Solarman: Solarman has no EV charger and no own surplus-charging function; whether surplus charging is possible depends on the inverter brand behind the logger. Deye’s SUN-EVSE charger, for example, can be monitored and controlled in Solarman when it is paired with a Deye hybrid inverter.

Easee: Easee’s own solar charging needs an Easee Equalizer on the site (the P1/HAN version reads the smart meter, Equalizer Amp measures with current sensors) and Easee as site operator. The Easee app then offers “Surplus only” and “Limited grid usage”; it does not read any inverter directly.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads Solarman production and controls your Easee charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.

Setting up Solarman and Easee in Zerofy

1. Connect Solarman

Zerofy connects to SOLARMAN Smart with your account login and reads PV production, meter (consumption) and battery data of your plant; a Solarman P1 meter reader can also be added as a separate electricity meter.

  1. Make sure your logger is online and your plant is set up in SOLARMAN Smart.
  2. In Zerofy, add an inverter, choose Solarman and log in with your SOLARMAN Smart e-mail and password.
  3. Optional: if the plant has a P1 meter, add it in meter setup under Solarman and select it from the discovered devices.

Good to know: Zerofy finds devices per plant, so a P1 meter must be assigned to a plant in SOLARMAN Smart. If a plant has both an inverter and a P1 meter, Zerofy offers two meters with the same plant-level values; connect only one of them.

2. Connect Easee

Zerofy logs in to your Easee account and starts, stops and sets the charging current through the Easee cloud.

  1. Make sure your Easee charger is online and added to your Easee account.
  2. In Zerofy, add an Easee charger and log in with your Easee account.

Good to know: Data synchronisation depends on how often the Easee cloud updates, so live values in Zerofy can lag behind the charger.

3. Turn on Autopilot

In Zerofy, open your Easee charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.

Dynamic tariffs

Zerofy can also run your Easee charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Solarman solar production.

About Solarman and Easee

Solarman – Solarman (IGEN Tech, Wuxi, China) does not make inverters: it makes data loggers such as the LSW-3 Wi-Fi stick and runs the SOLARMAN Smart platform, which according to IGEN works with about 200 inverter brands, including Deye. If your inverter’s app is SOLARMAN Smart, your data comes through Solarman whatever brand is on the inverter. Monitoring app: SOLARMAN Smart.

Easee – Easee is a Norwegian charger maker. Its current EU model Charge Max is a compact 22 kW box with built-in LTE and a MID meter that also runs on 3×230 V IT grids; the predecessor Charge Up leaves the EU market at the end of 2026. Products: Charge Max, Charge Up, Charge Lite, Charge, Home, One.

Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
