Solar Charging

Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Weiheng system. Solar surplus charging made easy.

Dynamic Tariffs

Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.

Cloud Integration

No hardware required. Connect your Weiheng and Easee via cloud APIs in minutes.

Weiheng + Easee: TL;DR

Yes, Weiheng and Easee work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Weiheng system through ECOS and controls your Easee charger through the Easee cloud. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.

In practice

  • Zerofy adjusts the charging current of your Easee charger but doesn’t switch phases. On a three-phase connection, solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V); on a single-phase connection about 1.4 kW.
  • A typical Weiheng home system (3.6–13 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
  • Zerofy gets new Weiheng data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
  • Zerofy also shows your Weiheng battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
  • If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
  • Easee needs at least 6 A to start, which is about 1.4 kW on one phase and 4.1 kW on three. If the charger’s phase mode is set to automatic, Zerofy warns you and plans with the three-phase minimum until Easee reports single-phase charging; a fixed single-phase setting lets charging start from about 1.4 kW, but caps it at about 3.7 kW.

What Weiheng and Easee offer on their own

Weiheng: WHES sells its own AC chargers (e.g. WH-ECA-7.0 with 7 kW, 32 A, plus a 22 kW model) that it describes as compatible with PV and battery systems, with load balancing. The ECOS app manages EV chargers, but WHES doesn’t publish how surplus charging works or which third-party wallboxes are supported.

Easee: Easee’s own solar charging needs an Easee Equalizer on the site (the P1/HAN version reads the smart meter, Equalizer Amp measures with current sensors) and Easee as site operator. The Easee app then offers “Surplus only” and “Limited grid usage”; it does not read any inverter directly.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads Weiheng production and controls your Easee charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.

Setting up Weiheng and Easee in Zerofy

1. Connect Weiheng

Zerofy connects through Weiheng’s partner cloud: you enter your system’s serial number in Zerofy, and Zerofy links the device and reads inverter, meter and battery data.

  1. Make sure your Weiheng system is online.
  2. In Zerofy, choose Weiheng and enter the serial number of your system.

2. Connect Easee

Zerofy logs in to your Easee account and starts, stops and sets the charging current through the Easee cloud.

  1. Make sure your Easee charger is online and added to your Easee account.
  2. In Zerofy, add an Easee charger and log in with your Easee account.

Good to know: Data synchronisation depends on how often the Easee cloud updates, so live values in Zerofy can lag behind the charger.

3. Turn on Autopilot

In Zerofy, open your Easee charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.

Dynamic tariffs

Zerofy can also run your Easee charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Weiheng solar production.
