Solar Charging

Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Huawei system. Solar surplus charging made easy.

Dynamic Tariffs

Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.

Cloud Integration

No hardware required. Connect your Huawei and Easee via cloud APIs in minutes.

Huawei + Easee: TL;DR

Yes, Huawei and Easee work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Huawei system through Huawei FusionSolar and controls your Easee charger through the Easee cloud. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.

In practice

  • Zerofy adjusts the charging current of your Easee charger but doesn’t switch phases. On a three-phase connection, solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V); on a single-phase connection about 1.4 kW.
  • A typical Huawei home system (2–10 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
  • Zerofy gets new Huawei data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
  • Zerofy also shows your Huawei battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
  • If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
  • Easee needs at least 6 A to start, which is about 1.4 kW on one phase and 4.1 kW on three. If the charger’s phase mode is set to automatic, Zerofy warns you and plans with the three-phase minimum until Easee reports single-phase charging; a fixed single-phase setting lets charging start from about 1.4 kW, but caps it at about 3.7 kW.

What Huawei and Easee offer on their own

Huawei: Huawei’s own SCharger (7 kW single-phase / 22 kW three-phase) has a “PV preferred” mode in FusionSolar and can switch down to one phase for charging from about 1.4 kW. Surplus charging needs a Huawei inverter with SDongle (Modbus TCP enabled) and power meter, or the SmartAssistant (formerly EMMA) energy manager, which also handles one third-party charger such as Keba KeContact P30 or Mennekes AMTRON.

Easee: Easee’s own solar charging needs an Easee Equalizer on the site (the P1/HAN version reads the smart meter, Equalizer Amp measures with current sensors) and Easee as site operator. The Easee app then offers “Surplus only” and “Limited grid usage”; it does not read any inverter directly.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads Huawei production and controls your Easee charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.

Setting up Huawei and Easee in Zerofy

1. Connect Huawei

Zerofy connects to Huawei FusionSolar with the login of a FusionSolar owner account; the older Northbound API account still works as a legacy option.

  1. Check that your FusionSolar account has a verified email address (System → Personal Settings).
  2. Make sure it is an Owner account; if you only have an installer or company account, invite a new user with the role Owner in the FusionSolar app.
  3. Add Huawei FusionSolar in Zerofy, choose the FusionSolar login and enter the owner account’s credentials.

Good to know: Installer and company accounts don’t work, and the owner invitation can only be sent from the FusionSolar smartphone app, not the web portal. If you use the legacy Northbound API, create a dedicated account for Zerofy, because sharing it with other services can cause data gaps.

2. Connect Easee

Zerofy logs in to your Easee account and starts, stops and sets the charging current through the Easee cloud.

  1. Make sure your Easee charger is online and added to your Easee account.
  2. In Zerofy, add an Easee charger and log in with your Easee account.

Good to know: Data synchronisation depends on how often the Easee cloud updates, so live values in Zerofy can lag behind the charger.

3. Turn on Autopilot

In Zerofy, open your Easee charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.

Dynamic tariffs

Zerofy can also run your Easee charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Huawei solar production.

About Huawei and Easee

Huawei – Chinese manufacturer (Huawei Digital Power, Shenzhen). Homes typically have a SUN2000 hybrid inverter, either the single-phase L1 (2–6 kW) or the three-phase M1 (3–10 kW), with a LUNA2000 battery, plus optional optimizers and the SmartGuard backup box. Monitoring app: Huawei FusionSolar.

Easee – Easee is a Norwegian charger maker. Its current EU model Charge Max is a compact 22 kW box with built-in LTE and a MID meter that also runs on 3×230 V IT grids; the predecessor Charge Up leaves the EU market at the end of 2026. Products: Charge Max, Charge Up, Charge Lite, Charge, Home, One.
