Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your SolarEdge system. Solar surplus charging made easy.
Dynamic Tariffs
Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.
Cloud Integration
No hardware required. Connect your SolarEdge and Easee via cloud APIs in minutes.
SolarEdge + Easee: TL;DR
Yes, SolarEdge and Easee work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your SolarEdge system through SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app and controls your Easee charger through the Easee cloud. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with SolarEdge and Easee
| Solar data from SolarEdge | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to Easee | Cloud – your Easee account |
| Start and stop charging | Yes |
| Adjust charging current | Yes |
| Switch between 1 and 3 phases | Not available |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Zerofy adjusts the charging current of your Easee charger but doesn’t switch phases. On a three-phase connection, solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V); on a single-phase connection about 1.4 kW.
- A typical SolarEdge home system (3–10 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
- Zerofy gets new SolarEdge data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
- Zerofy also shows your SolarEdge battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
- If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
- Easee needs at least 6 A to start, which is about 1.4 kW on one phase and 4.1 kW on three. If the charger’s phase mode is set to automatic, Zerofy warns you and plans with the three-phase minimum until Easee reports single-phase charging; a fixed single-phase setting lets charging start from about 1.4 kW, but caps it at about 3.7 kW.
What SolarEdge and Easee offer on their own
SolarEdge: SolarEdge sells its own EV charger, controlled from the mySolarEdge app. With the SolarEdge ONE Controller (inverter firmware 4.22 or later), mySolarEdge can instead run one third-party OCPP 1.6J charger with Excess Solar charging: MENNEKES AMTRON, Wallbox Pulsar Max/Plus/Pro, Alfen Eve S-line/Pro-line or ABB Terra AC. Only one charger can be used at a time.
Easee: Easee’s own solar charging needs an Easee Equalizer on the site (the P1/HAN version reads the smart meter, Equalizer Amp measures with current sensors) and Easee as site operator. The Easee app then offers “Surplus only” and “Limited grid usage”; it does not read any inverter directly.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads SolarEdge production and controls your Easee charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up SolarEdge and Easee in Zerofy
1. Connect SolarEdge
Zerofy connects to SolarEdge’s monitoring cloud with the same login you use for the SolarEdge Monitoring website or the mySolarEdge app.
- Make sure your SolarEdge inverter is online and your account has the Owner role on the site.
- Add a new SolarEdge device in Zerofy.
- Log in with your SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge credentials and follow the on-screen prompts.
Good to know: Your account needs the Owner role, which the installer usually assigns to the system owner during setup; ask your installer if you don’t have it. Battery and meter data depend on how your system is configured.

2. Connect Easee
Zerofy logs in to your Easee account and starts, stops and sets the charging current through the Easee cloud.
- Make sure your Easee charger is online and added to your Easee account.
- In Zerofy, add an Easee charger and log in with your Easee account.
Good to know: Data synchronisation depends on how often the Easee cloud updates, so live values in Zerofy can lag behind the charger.
3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Easee charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Easee charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your SolarEdge solar production.
About SolarEdge and Easee
SolarEdge – Israeli company (Herzliya) known for inverters with a power optimizer on every module. Homes typically have a SolarEdge Home Wave single-phase or Home Hub three-phase inverter with optimizers, often with a SolarEdge Home Battery and SolarEdge Home smart-energy accessories. Monitoring app: SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app.
Easee – Easee is a Norwegian charger maker. Its current EU model Charge Max is a compact 22 kW box with built-in LTE and a MID meter that also runs on 3×230 V IT grids; the predecessor Charge Up leaves the EU market at the end of 2026. Products: Charge Max, Charge Up, Charge Lite, Charge, Home, One.
