Solarman + Wallbox

Solarman + Wallbox via OCPP: Zerofy matches the charging current to your solar surplus and to dynamic tariffs. Setup in minutes, no extra hardware.

Solar Charging

Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Solarman system. Solar surplus charging made easy.

Dynamic Tariffs

Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.

Direct OCPP connection

Wallbox connects to Zerofy over OCPP, Solarman through its cloud. No extra hardware.

Solarman + Wallbox: TL;DR

Yes, Solarman and Wallbox work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Solarman system through SOLARMAN Smart, and your Wallbox charger connects to Zerofy directly over OCPP. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.

In practice

  • Phase switching for Wallbox is coming to Zerofy. Until then the charger uses the phases it’s wired with, so on a three-phase connection solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V).
  • Solarman systems range from balcony kits to rooftop systems (0.8–12 kW). A balcony system never reaches the 1.4 kW needed to start charging; a rooftop system of a few kW does on bright days, and three-phase charging needs about 4.1 kW.
  • Zerofy gets new Solarman data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
  • If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
  • Wallbox’s Full green mode needs 6 A of surplus, about 1.4 kW single-phase or 3×6 A (about 4.1 kW) three-phase, and Wallbox asks for the inverter to be set to export mode. The Wallbox solar mode measures with its own meter, but Zerofy does not need it: Autopilot works out the surplus from the inverter you have connected.

What Solarman and Wallbox offer on their own

Solarman: Solarman has no EV charger and no own surplus-charging function; whether surplus charging is possible depends on the inverter brand behind the logger. Deye’s SUN-EVSE charger, for example, can be monitored and controlled in Solarman when it is paired with a Deye hybrid inverter.

Wallbox: Wallbox’s own Solar Charging (formerly Eco-Smart) needs a power meter sold by Wallbox at the grid connection and offers “Eco” (solar plus grid) and “Full green” (surplus only). With the meter, Pulsar Max and Pulsar Pro can drop from three to one phase when surplus is low (“3P Optimization”; tethered Pulsar Max units from August 2025 production); no inverter brand is read directly.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads Solarman production and controls your Wallbox charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.

Setting up Solarman and Wallbox in Zerofy

1. Connect Solarman

Zerofy connects to SOLARMAN Smart with your account login and reads PV production, meter (consumption) and battery data of your plant; a Solarman P1 meter reader can also be added as a separate electricity meter.

  1. Make sure your logger is online and your plant is set up in SOLARMAN Smart.
  2. In Zerofy, add an inverter, choose Solarman and log in with your SOLARMAN Smart e-mail and password.
  3. Optional: if the plant has a P1 meter, add it in meter setup under Solarman and select it from the discovered devices.

Good to know: Zerofy finds devices per plant, so a P1 meter must be assigned to a plant in SOLARMAN Smart. If a plant has both an inverter and a P1 meter, Zerofy offers two meters with the same plant-level values; connect only one of them.

2. Connect Wallbox

Wallbox chargers connect to Zerofy via OCPP 1.6J, which you switch on in the myWallbox app; Zerofy shows you the exact server and charge point identity to enter.

  1. In Zerofy, add a Wallbox charger and copy the Server and Charge point identity.
  2. In the myWallbox app, open the charger settings, go to External Management → OCPP and turn OCPP on.
  3. Choose OCPP provider “Other”, paste both values, leave the password empty and save; the charger reboots and connects within 1–3 minutes.

Good to know: The charge point identity is case-sensitive, so use the copy buttons. While OCPP is active, charging is controlled from Zerofy instead of the myWallbox app; firmware updates, restarts and network settings stay in the myWallbox app.

3. Turn on Autopilot

In Zerofy, open your Wallbox charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.

Dynamic tariffs

Zerofy can also run your Wallbox charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Solarman solar production.

About Solarman and Wallbox

Solarman – Solarman (IGEN Tech, Wuxi, China) does not make inverters: it makes data loggers such as the LSW-3 Wi-Fi stick and runs the SOLARMAN Smart platform, which according to IGEN works with about 200 inverter brands, including Deye. If your inverter’s app is SOLARMAN Smart, your data comes through Solarman whatever brand is on the inverter. Monitoring app: SOLARMAN Smart.

Wallbox – Wallbox is a Spanish charger maker whose small Pulsar series is one of Europe’s most widely sold wallboxes, as a tethered or socket version. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland it is also sold as ABL Pulsar. Products: Pulsar Plus, Pulsar Max, Pulsar Pro, Commander 2, Copper SB.

Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
