Solar Charging

Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Enphase system. Solar surplus charging made easy.

Dynamic Tariffs

Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.

Cloud Integration

No hardware required. Connect your Enphase and Easee via cloud APIs in minutes.

Enphase + Easee: TL;DR

Yes, Enphase and Easee work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Enphase system through Enphase App / Enlighten and controls your Easee charger through the Easee cloud. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.

In practice

  • Zerofy adjusts the charging current of your Easee charger but doesn’t switch phases. On a three-phase connection, solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V); on a single-phase connection about 1.4 kW.
  • A typical Enphase home system (3–10 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
  • Zerofy gets new Enphase data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
  • Zerofy also shows your Enphase battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
  • If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
  • Easee needs at least 6 A to start, which is about 1.4 kW on one phase and 4.1 kW on three. If the charger’s phase mode is set to automatic, Zerofy warns you and plans with the three-phase minimum until Easee reports single-phase charging; a fixed single-phase setting lets charging start from about 1.4 kW, but caps it at about 3.7 kW.

What Enphase and Easee offer on their own

Enphase: Enphase sells its own IQ EV Charger 2, shipping in 14 European markets since March 2025, with a Green Charging mode that uses only surplus solar and automatic 1-/3-phase switching, so charging can start from about 1.38 kW. Third-party chargers can be controlled via OCPP 1.6J through the IQ Energy Router (up to two chargers), but only models on Enphase’s supported list.

Easee: Easee’s own solar charging needs an Easee Equalizer on the site (the P1/HAN version reads the smart meter, Equalizer Amp measures with current sensors) and Easee as site operator. The Easee app then offers “Surplus only” and “Limited grid usage”; it does not read any inverter directly.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads Enphase production and controls your Easee charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.

Setting up Enphase and Easee in Zerofy

1. Connect Enphase

Zerofy connects to your system through the Enphase cloud: you log in with your Enphase Enlighten credentials and Zerofy reads PV production, meter (consumption) and battery data.

  1. Make sure your system is online and you have an account on Enphase Enlighten.
  2. In Zerofy, add an inverter, choose Enphase and log in with your Enlighten credentials.
  3. Configure the meters: the grid meter as main meter (bi-directional or consumption), production as a sub meter of type production.

2. Connect Easee

Zerofy logs in to your Easee account and starts, stops and sets the charging current through the Easee cloud.

  1. Make sure your Easee charger is online and added to your Easee account.
  2. In Zerofy, add an Easee charger and log in with your Easee account.

Good to know: Data synchronisation depends on how often the Easee cloud updates, so live values in Zerofy can lag behind the charger.

3. Turn on Autopilot

In Zerofy, open your Easee charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.

Dynamic tariffs

Zerofy can also run your Easee charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Enphase solar production.

About Enphase and Easee

Enphase – Enphase Energy (Fremont, California) makes microinverters: each panel gets its own IQ8 unit of about 300–330 VA, connected through an IQ Gateway. The AC-coupled IQ Battery 5P adds storage in 5 kWh steps, and everything is monitored in the Enphase App (Enlighten). Monitoring app: Enphase App / Enlighten.

Easee – Easee is a Norwegian charger maker. Its current EU model Charge Max is a compact 22 kW box with built-in LTE and a MID meter that also runs on 3×230 V IT grids; the predecessor Charge Up leaves the EU market at the end of 2026. Products: Charge Max, Charge Up, Charge Lite, Charge, Home, One.

Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
