Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your SAJ system. Solar surplus charging made easy.
Dynamic Tariffs
Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.
Cloud Integration
No hardware required. Connect your SAJ and Easee via cloud APIs in minutes.
SAJ + Easee: TL;DR
Yes, SAJ and Easee work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your SAJ system through Elekeeper and controls your Easee charger through the Easee cloud. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with SAJ and Easee
| Solar data from SAJ | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to Easee | Cloud – your Easee account |
| Start and stop charging | Yes |
| Adjust charging current | Yes |
| Switch between 1 and 3 phases | Not available |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Zerofy adjusts the charging current of your Easee charger but doesn’t switch phases. On a three-phase connection, solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V); on a single-phase connection about 1.4 kW.
- A typical SAJ home system (3–10 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
- Zerofy gets new SAJ data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
- Zerofy also shows your SAJ battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
- If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
- Easee needs at least 6 A to start, which is about 1.4 kW on one phase and 4.1 kW on three. If the charger’s phase mode is set to automatic, Zerofy warns you and plans with the three-phase minimum until Easee reports single-phase charging; a fixed single-phase setting lets charging start from about 1.4 kW, but caps it at about 3.7 kW.
What SAJ and Easee offer on their own
SAJ: SAJ’s Caro wallbox (7 kW, 6–32 A, or 11 kW, 6–16 A) can charge from solar and supports OCPP 1.6J. The manual says PV charging needs an SAJ H2+B2, HS2, AS2 or HS3 storage system plus the eManager.
Easee: Easee’s own solar charging needs an Easee Equalizer on the site (the P1/HAN version reads the smart meter, Equalizer Amp measures with current sensors) and Easee as site operator. The Easee app then offers “Surplus only” and “Limited grid usage”; it does not read any inverter directly.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads SAJ production and controls your Easee charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up SAJ and Easee in Zerofy
1. Connect SAJ
Zerofy reads your plant from the SAJ cloud: you add Zerofy as a developer in the Elekeeper app and then enter your Plant ID in Zerofy.
- In the Elekeeper app, tap ••• and open Plant Management.
- Under Developer/Partner, paste the Developer ID shown in Zerofy and confirm access.
- Copy your Plant ID from Plant Management and paste it into Zerofy.
Good to know: How fresh the data is depends on how often the SAJ cloud updates. For the battery, Zerofy supports forced charging but not switching the battery mode.
2. Connect Easee
Zerofy logs in to your Easee account and starts, stops and sets the charging current through the Easee cloud.
- Make sure your Easee charger is online and added to your Easee account.
- In Zerofy, add an Easee charger and log in with your Easee account.
Good to know: Data synchronisation depends on how often the Easee cloud updates, so live values in Zerofy can lag behind the charger.
3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Easee charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Easee charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your SAJ solar production.
About SAJ and Easee
SAJ – SAJ (Guangzhou Sanjing Electric) is an inverter maker from Guangzhou, China. Homes usually have the H2 hybrid inverter with B2 battery or the HS2, HS3 or AS2 all-in-one storage systems; the eManager unit and the Caro wallbox tie them together. Monitoring app: Elekeeper.
Easee – Easee is a Norwegian charger maker. Its current EU model Charge Max is a compact 22 kW box with built-in LTE and a MID meter that also runs on 3×230 V IT grids; the predecessor Charge Up leaves the EU market at the end of 2026. Products: Charge Max, Charge Up, Charge Lite, Charge, Home, One.
Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
