Huawei + Wallbox
Huawei + Wallbox via OCPP: Zerofy matches the charging current to your solar surplus and to dynamic tariffs. Setup in minutes, no extra hardware.
Download Zerofy Plans and PricingSolar Charging
Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Huawei system. Solar surplus charging made easy.
Dynamic Tariffs
Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.
Direct OCPP connection
Wallbox connects to Zerofy over OCPP, Huawei through its cloud. No extra hardware.
Huawei + Wallbox: TL;DR
Yes, Huawei and Wallbox work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Huawei system through Huawei FusionSolar, and your Wallbox charger connects to Zerofy directly over OCPP. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with Huawei and Wallbox
| Solar data from Huawei | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to Wallbox | OCPP 1.6J – the charger connects to Zerofy |
| Start and stop charging | Yes |
| Adjust charging current | Coming soon |
| Switch between 1 and 3 phases | Coming soon |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Phase switching for Wallbox is coming to Zerofy. Until then the charger uses the phases it’s wired with, so on a three-phase connection solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V).
- A typical Huawei home system (2–10 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
- Zerofy gets new Huawei data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
- Zerofy also shows your Huawei battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
- If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
- Wallbox’s Full green mode needs 6 A of surplus, about 1.4 kW single-phase or 3×6 A (about 4.1 kW) three-phase, and Wallbox asks for the inverter to be set to export mode. The Wallbox solar mode measures with its own meter, but Zerofy does not need it: Autopilot works out the surplus from the inverter you have connected.
What Huawei and Wallbox offer on their own
Huawei: Huawei’s own SCharger (7 kW single-phase / 22 kW three-phase) has a “PV preferred” mode in FusionSolar and can switch down to one phase for charging from about 1.4 kW. Surplus charging needs a Huawei inverter with SDongle (Modbus TCP enabled) and power meter, or the SmartAssistant (formerly EMMA) energy manager, which also handles one third-party charger such as Keba KeContact P30 or Mennekes AMTRON.
Wallbox: Wallbox’s own Solar Charging (formerly Eco-Smart) needs a power meter sold by Wallbox at the grid connection and offers “Eco” (solar plus grid) and “Full green” (surplus only). With the meter, Pulsar Max and Pulsar Pro can drop from three to one phase when surplus is low (“3P Optimization”; tethered Pulsar Max units from August 2025 production); no inverter brand is read directly.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads Huawei production and controls your Wallbox charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up Huawei and Wallbox in Zerofy
1. Connect Huawei
Zerofy connects to Huawei FusionSolar with the login of a FusionSolar owner account; the older Northbound API account still works as a legacy option.
- Check that your FusionSolar account has a verified email address (System → Personal Settings).
- Make sure it is an Owner account; if you only have an installer or company account, invite a new user with the role Owner in the FusionSolar app.
- Add Huawei FusionSolar in Zerofy, choose the FusionSolar login and enter the owner account’s credentials.
Good to know: Installer and company accounts don’t work, and the owner invitation can only be sent from the FusionSolar smartphone app, not the web portal. If you use the legacy Northbound API, create a dedicated account for Zerofy, because sharing it with other services can cause data gaps.
2. Connect Wallbox
Wallbox chargers connect to Zerofy via OCPP 1.6J, which you switch on in the myWallbox app; Zerofy shows you the exact server and charge point identity to enter.
- In Zerofy, add a Wallbox charger and copy the Server and Charge point identity.
- In the myWallbox app, open the charger settings, go to External Management → OCPP and turn OCPP on.
- Choose OCPP provider “Other”, paste both values, leave the password empty and save; the charger reboots and connects within 1–3 minutes.
Good to know: The charge point identity is case-sensitive, so use the copy buttons. While OCPP is active, charging is controlled from Zerofy instead of the myWallbox app; firmware updates, restarts and network settings stay in the myWallbox app.

3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Wallbox charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Wallbox charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Huawei solar production.
