Huawei + Beny
Huawei + Beny via OCPP: Zerofy matches the charging current to your solar surplus and to dynamic tariffs. Setup in minutes, no extra hardware.

Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Huawei system. Solar surplus charging made easy.
Dynamic Tariffs
Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.
Direct OCPP connection
Beny connects to Zerofy over OCPP, Huawei through its cloud. No extra hardware.
Huawei + Beny: TL;DR
Yes, Huawei and Beny work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Huawei system through Huawei FusionSolar, and your Beny charger connects to Zerofy directly over OCPP. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with Huawei and Beny
| Solar data from Huawei | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to Beny | OCPP 1.6J – the charger connects to Zerofy |
| Start and stop charging | Yes |
| Adjust charging current | Yes |
| Switch between 1 and 3 phases | Not available |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Zerofy adjusts the charging current of your Beny charger but doesn’t switch phases. On a three-phase connection, solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V); on a single-phase connection about 1.4 kW.
- A typical Huawei home system (2–10 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
- Zerofy gets new Huawei data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
- Zerofy also shows your Huawei battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
- If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
- The standard load-balancing kit is not the same as the Solar DLB box: only the solar version unlocks the PV and Hybrid modes. Via OCPP, Zerofy sets the charging power but not the phases, so on a three-phase BENY charging needs at least 6 A per phase, about 4.1 kW of surplus.
What Huawei and Beny offer on their own
Huawei: Huawei’s own SCharger (7 kW single-phase / 22 kW three-phase) has a “PV preferred” mode in FusionSolar and can switch down to one phase for charging from about 1.4 kW. Surplus charging needs a Huawei inverter with SDongle (Modbus TCP enabled) and power meter, or the SmartAssistant (formerly EMMA) energy manager, which also handles one third-party charger such as Keba KeContact P30 or Mennekes AMTRON.
Beny: BENY’s own solar charging needs its Solar DLB box with current clamps at the house connection, configured in the Z-BOX app. It offers “PV” mode (keeps grid draw close to 0 A), “Hybrid” mode (solar plus grid within the DLB limit) and “Full speed”; it does not talk to the inverter.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads Huawei production and controls your Beny charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up Huawei and Beny in Zerofy
1. Connect Huawei
Zerofy connects to Huawei FusionSolar with the login of a FusionSolar owner account; the older Northbound API account still works as a legacy option.
- Check that your FusionSolar account has a verified email address (System → Personal Settings).
- Make sure it is an Owner account; if you only have an installer or company account, invite a new user with the role Owner in the FusionSolar app.
- Add Huawei FusionSolar in Zerofy, choose the FusionSolar login and enter the owner account’s credentials.
Good to know: Installer and company accounts don’t work, and the owner invitation can only be sent from the FusionSolar smartphone app, not the web portal. If you use the legacy Northbound API, create a dedicated account for Zerofy, because sharing it with other services can cause data gaps.
2. Connect Beny
Zerofy has a dedicated BENY entry in the app, which connects via OCPP; Zerofy can then start, stop and set the charging power.
- In Zerofy, add a BENY charger and copy the OCPP URL.
- Paste it into the OCPP settings of your charger’s configuration app.
- Wait until the charger connects to Zerofy.
3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Beny charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Beny charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Huawei solar production.
About Huawei and Beny
Huawei – Chinese manufacturer (Huawei Digital Power, Shenzhen). Homes typically have a SUN2000 hybrid inverter, either the single-phase L1 (2–6 kW) or the three-phase M1 (3–10 kW), with a LUNA2000 battery, plus optional optimizers and the SmartGuard backup box. Monitoring app: Huawei FusionSolar.
Beny – BENY is a Chinese maker of low-cost wallboxes with open OCPP 1.6J, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an optional load-balancing kit. It is sold mainly through regional importers and installers, so availability and support depend on your local partner. Products: BENY BCP smart wallbox (7.4 / 22 kW).
Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
