Solar Charging

Automatically charge your EV with surplus solar power from your Weiheng system. Solar surplus charging made easy.

Dynamic Tariffs

Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.

Direct OCPP connection

Wallbox connects to Zerofy over OCPP, Weiheng through its cloud. No extra hardware.

Weiheng + Wallbox: TL;DR

Yes, Weiheng and Wallbox work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Weiheng system through ECOS, and your Wallbox charger connects to Zerofy directly over OCPP. Zerofy adjusts the charging current to the surplus. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.

In practice

  • Phase switching for Wallbox is coming to Zerofy. Until then the charger uses the phases it’s wired with, so on a three-phase connection solar charging needs at least about 4.1 kW of surplus (6 A × 3 × 230 V).
  • A typical Weiheng home system (3.6–13 kW) needs a sunny midday to reach the 4.1 kW three-phase minimum. Wired single-phase, the charger starts from about 1.4 kW but charges at no more than about 3.7 kW.
  • Zerofy gets new Weiheng data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting charging.
  • Zerofy also shows your Weiheng battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the car.
  • If your car is connected to Zerofy too, turn on Autopilot for either the car or the charger, not both.
  • Wallbox’s Full green mode needs 6 A of surplus, about 1.4 kW single-phase or 3×6 A (about 4.1 kW) three-phase, and Wallbox asks for the inverter to be set to export mode. The Wallbox solar mode measures with its own meter, but Zerofy does not need it: Autopilot works out the surplus from the inverter you have connected.

What Weiheng and Wallbox offer on their own

Weiheng: WHES sells its own AC chargers (e.g. WH-ECA-7.0 with 7 kW, 32 A, plus a 22 kW model) that it describes as compatible with PV and battery systems, with load balancing. The ECOS app manages EV chargers, but WHES doesn’t publish how surplus charging works or which third-party wallboxes are supported.

Wallbox: Wallbox’s own Solar Charging (formerly Eco-Smart) needs a power meter sold by Wallbox at the grid connection and offers “Eco” (solar plus grid) and “Full green” (surplus only). With the meter, Pulsar Max and Pulsar Pro can drop from three to one phase when surplus is low (“3P Optimization”; tethered Pulsar Max units from August 2025 production); no inverter brand is read directly.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads Weiheng production and controls your Wallbox charger to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.

Setting up Weiheng and Wallbox in Zerofy

1. Connect Weiheng

Zerofy connects through Weiheng’s partner cloud: you enter your system’s serial number in Zerofy, and Zerofy links the device and reads inverter, meter and battery data.

  1. Make sure your Weiheng system is online.
  2. In Zerofy, choose Weiheng and enter the serial number of your system.

2. Connect Wallbox

Wallbox chargers connect to Zerofy via OCPP 1.6J, which you switch on in the myWallbox app; Zerofy shows you the exact server and charge point identity to enter.

  1. In Zerofy, add a Wallbox charger and copy the Server and Charge point identity.
  2. In the myWallbox app, open the charger settings, go to External Management → OCPP and turn OCPP on.
  3. Choose OCPP provider “Other”, paste both values, leave the password empty and save; the charger reboots and connects within 1–3 minutes.

Good to know: The charge point identity is case-sensitive, so use the copy buttons. While OCPP is active, charging is controlled from Zerofy instead of the myWallbox app; firmware updates, restarts and network settings stay in the myWallbox app.

3. Turn on Autopilot

In Zerofy, open your Wallbox charger, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.

Dynamic tariffs

Zerofy can also run your Wallbox charger on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Weiheng solar production.
