SolarEdge + Alpha Innotec: TL;DR
Yes, SolarEdge and Alpha Innotec work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your SolarEdge system through SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app and controls your Alpha Innotec heat pump through the Alpha Innotec cloud. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with SolarEdge and Alpha Innotec
| Solar data from SolarEdge | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to Alpha Innotec | Cloud – your Alpha Innotec account |
| Hot-water boost | Yes |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Hot water is the simplest heat store: Autopilot can use the hot-water boost of your Alpha Innotec heat pump to heat water in hours with surplus.
- A heat pump draws roughly 1–3 kW while running, which a typical SolarEdge home system (3–10 kW) can cover on sunny days.
- Zerofy gets new SolarEdge data every 5 minutes. Heat pumps shouldn’t switch often, so set a minimum runtime in Autopilot.
- Zerofy also shows your SolarEdge battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the heat pump.
- If the PV-Ready contact is wired to your inverter as well, decide which system triggers the hot-water run so the tank isn’t heated twice; with Zerofy the boost follows your inverter’s live surplus from its cloud, without extra wiring.
What SolarEdge and Alpha Innotec offer on their own
SolarEdge: The SolarEdge Home Load Controller switches the SG Ready input of most air-to-water heat pumps on excess solar, with two configurable set points; it connects to the inverter via the SolarEdge Home Network and needs no ONE Controller. Vaillant heat pumps from 2018 with EEBUS can be controlled through the ONE Controller, and the SolarEdge Home Hot Water Controller feeds surplus into an immersion heater.
Alpha Innotec: All alpha innotec heat pumps with Luxtronik 2.0 or newer are PV-Ready and SG-Ready: a potential-free contact from the inverter (or a relay) starts the heat pump, which then heats at full power up to the return-temperature limit and makes hot water up to the maximum flow temperature. alpha innotec doesn’t name specific inverters; any inverter or energy manager with a switching contact works.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads SolarEdge production and controls your Alpha Innotec heat pump to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up SolarEdge and Alpha Innotec in Zerofy
1. Connect SolarEdge
Zerofy connects to SolarEdge’s monitoring cloud with the same login you use for the SolarEdge Monitoring website or the mySolarEdge app.
- Make sure your SolarEdge inverter is online and your account has the Owner role on the site.
- Add a new SolarEdge device in Zerofy.
- Log in with your SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge credentials and follow the on-screen prompts.
Good to know: Your account needs the Owner role, which the installer usually assigns to the system owner during setup; ask your installer if you don’t have it. Battery and meter data depend on how your system is configured.

2. Connect Alpha Innotec
Zerofy reaches alpha innotec heat pumps through the myUplink cloud, the same connector used for NIBE, with your myUplink login; Autopilot controls the hot-water boost.
- Register the heat pump (Luxtronik 2.1, current software) in the myUplink app.
- Make sure your myUplink account has the subscription needed for remote control.
- In Zerofy, connect myUplink and log in with your myUplink credentials.
- Enable Autopilot (Solar or Smart mode) for the hot-water tank.
Good to know: Only heat pumps on myUplink (Luxtronik 2.1) can be reached; Luxtronik 2.0 units that use heatpump24 can’t. Zerofy steers only the hot-water boost, not room or flow temperature.
3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Alpha Innotec heat pump, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Alpha Innotec heat pump on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your SolarEdge solar production.
About SolarEdge and Alpha Innotec
SolarEdge – Israeli company (Herzliya) known for inverters with a power optimizer on every module. Homes typically have a SolarEdge Home Wave single-phase or Home Hub three-phase inverter with optimizers, often with a SolarEdge Home Battery and SolarEdge Home smart-energy accessories. Monitoring app: SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app.
Alpha Innotec – alpha innotec is a German heat pump brand of ait-deutschland in Kasendorf, Bavaria. Its heat pumps run on the Luxtronik controller; units with Luxtronik 2.1 connect to the myUplink cloud, older Luxtronik 2.0 units use heatpump24. Products: Air-to-water and brine-to-water heat pumps with Luxtronik 2.1 control (myUplink) or Luxtronik 2.0 (heatpump24).
Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
