SolarEdge + PHNIX: TL;DR
SolarEdge and PHNIX both connect to Zerofy, but automatic solar control of PHNIX isn't available yet. Zerofy reads your SolarEdge system through SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app and controls your PHNIX heat pump through the PHNIX cloud. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with SolarEdge and PHNIX
| Solar data from SolarEdge | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to PHNIX | Cloud – your PHNIX account |
| Set room temperature | Yes |
| Set flow temperature | Yes |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Not available |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Not available |
In practice
- Autopilot isn’t available for PHNIX yet, so Zerofy won’t run your PHNIX heat pump on solar surplus automatically. You can see SolarEdge production and PHNIX in one app and adjust the room temperature and flow temperature from there.
- Because Zerofy does not run PHNIX units on surplus automatically, put the heating or pool-heating window into the middle of the day with a schedule; pool heat pumps run mainly in summer, when midday PV output is highest.
What SolarEdge and PHNIX offer on their own
SolarEdge: The SolarEdge Home Load Controller switches the SG Ready input of most air-to-water heat pumps on excess solar, with two configurable set points; it connects to the inverter via the SolarEdge Home Network and needs no ONE Controller. Vaillant heat pumps from 2018 with EEBUS can be controlled through the ONE Controller, and the SolarEdge Home Hot Water Controller feeds surplus into an immersion heater.
PHNIX: PHNIX’s “PV Ready” function lets the heat pump adjust its compressor frequency to the available solar power, controlled by a home energy manager or, if there is none, by PHNIX’s own Smart Meter. A “Spot Time” mode works with grid prices (target temperature, maximum frequency, six daily timers), and the Heco series also has an SG Ready interface.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads SolarEdge production and controls your PHNIX heat pump to match, together with your other devices in one app.
Setting up SolarEdge and PHNIX in Zerofy
1. Connect SolarEdge
Zerofy connects to SolarEdge’s monitoring cloud with the same login you use for the SolarEdge Monitoring website or the mySolarEdge app.
- Make sure your SolarEdge inverter is online and your account has the Owner role on the site.
- Add a new SolarEdge device in Zerofy.
- Log in with your SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge credentials and follow the on-screen prompts.
Good to know: Your account needs the Owner role, which the installer usually assigns to the system owner during setup; ask your installer if you don’t have it. Battery and meter data depend on how your system is configured.

2. Connect PHNIX
Zerofy connects to the PHNIX cloud with your PHNIX app login and shows the heat pump’s live status; you can set the room temperature and the water circulation temperature from Zerofy.
- Connect the heat pump to the internet and register it in the PHNIX app.
- In Zerofy, add PHNIX and log in with your PHNIX account credentials.
Good to know: Zerofy’s Autopilot does not yet run PHNIX heat pumps on solar surplus or dynamic prices; control from Zerofy is manual or by schedule.
About SolarEdge and PHNIX
SolarEdge – Israeli company (Herzliya) known for inverters with a power optimizer on every module. Homes typically have a SolarEdge Home Wave single-phase or Home Hub three-phase inverter with optimizers, often with a SolarEdge Home Battery and SolarEdge Home smart-energy accessories. Monitoring app: SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app.
PHNIX – Guangdong PHNIX Eco-energy Solution Ltd. is a Chinese heat pump manufacturer based in Guangzhou (Nansha), founded in 2002. It makes air-to-water heat pumps for heating, cooling and hot water, hot-water heat pumps and swimming pool heat pumps, and exports about half its products, including to Europe. Products: Air-to-water heat pumps (Everest, Heco, GreenTherm Pro R290, HeatGreen), airExpert R290 all-in-one hot-water heat pump, full-inverter swimming pool heat pumps.
