Solar Heating

Heat your home with free solar energy from your SolarEdge PV system.

Dynamic Tariffs

Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.

Cloud Integration

No hardware required. Connect your SolarEdge and Sensibo via cloud APIs in minutes.

SolarEdge + Sensibo: TL;DR

Yes, SolarEdge and Sensibo work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your SolarEdge system through SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app and controls your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner through the Sensibo cloud. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.

What Zerofy can do with SolarEdge and Sensibo

Solar data from SolarEdgeLive values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery

Autopilot: Solar modeYes
Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts)Yes

In practice

  • Autopilot switches the air conditioner on when there’s surplus; the unit’s own setpoint logic still decides when it heats or cools.
  • Zerofy gets new SolarEdge data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting the device.
  • Zerofy also shows your SolarEdge battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the air conditioner.
  • The API key gives Zerofy access to your Sensibo account: keep it in place, because deleting or regenerating it at home.sensibo.com/me/api cuts the connection until you enter a new key in Zerofy.

What SolarEdge and Sensibo offer on their own

SolarEdge: The SolarEdge Home Load Controller switches the SG Ready input of most air-to-water heat pumps on excess solar, with two configurable set points; it connects to the inverter via the SolarEdge Home Network and needs no ONE Controller. Vaillant heat pumps from 2018 with EEBUS can be controlled through the ONE Controller, and the SolarEdge Home Hot Water Controller feeds surplus into an immersion heater.

Sensibo: The Sensibo app automates by schedules, geofencing and “Climate React” (reacting to room temperature and humidity) and added kWh and cost tracking in October 2026. Sensibo does not advertise a mode that follows PV surplus automatically; Enphase sells Sensibo controllers, but the pairing means manually matching AC use to the production shown in the Enphase app.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads SolarEdge production and controls your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.

Setting up SolarEdge and Sensibo in Zerofy

1. Connect SolarEdge

Zerofy connects to SolarEdge’s monitoring cloud with the same login you use for the SolarEdge Monitoring website or the mySolarEdge app.

  1. Make sure your SolarEdge inverter is online and your account has the Owner role on the site.
  2. Add a new SolarEdge device in Zerofy.
  3. Log in with your SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge credentials and follow the on-screen prompts.

Good to know: Your account needs the Owner role, which the installer usually assigns to the system owner during setup; ask your installer if you don’t have it. Battery and meter data depend on how your system is configured.

2. Connect Sensibo

Zerofy connects to your Sensibo account with an API key; it can switch the air conditioner on and off, set the target temperature and let Autopilot run it on solar surplus or in Smart mode.

  1. Set up the Sensibo device in the Sensibo app.
  2. Create an API key at home.sensibo.com/me/api.
  3. In Zerofy, add Sensibo and paste the API key.

3. Turn on Autopilot

In Zerofy, open your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.

Dynamic tariffs

Zerofy can also run your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your SolarEdge solar production.

About SolarEdge and Sensibo

SolarEdge – Israeli company (Herzliya) known for inverters with a power optimizer on every module. Homes typically have a SolarEdge Home Wave single-phase or Home Hub three-phase inverter with optimizers, often with a SolarEdge Home Battery and SolarEdge Home smart-energy accessories. Monitoring app: SolarEdge Monitoring / mySolarEdge app.

Sensibo – Sensibo was founded in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2013. Its controllers (Sky, Air, Air PRO) make existing air conditioners, mini-splits and air-to-air heat pumps smart by sending the same infrared commands as the original remote. Products: Sensibo Sky, Sensibo Air, Sensibo Air PRO (plus Room Sensor and Elements/Pure air-quality devices).

Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
