FoxESS + Sensibo: TL;DR
Yes, FoxESS and Sensibo work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your FoxESS system through FoxCloud 2.0 and controls your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner through the Sensibo cloud. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with FoxESS and Sensibo
| Solar data from FoxESS | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to Sensibo | Cloud – your Sensibo account |
| Switch on and off | Yes |
| Set room temperature | Yes |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Autopilot switches the air conditioner on when there’s surplus; the unit’s own setpoint logic still decides when it heats or cools.
- Zerofy gets new FoxESS data every 5 minutes and adjusts accordingly. A minimum runtime and an activation threshold in Autopilot keep passing clouds from interrupting the device.
- Zerofy also shows your FoxESS battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the air conditioner.
- The API key gives Zerofy access to your Sensibo account: keep it in place, because deleting or regenerating it at home.sensibo.com/me/api cuts the connection until you enter a new key in Zerofy.
What FoxESS and Sensibo offer on their own
FoxESS: FoxESS has its own R290 heat pumps (HP Series monobloc, HP BOX hydro module), controlled in FoxCloud 2.0, which lists a solar heating feature. The three-phase H3 Pro can switch an SG Ready heat pump through its dry contacts when feed-in exceeds a set start power.
Sensibo: The Sensibo app automates by schedules, geofencing and “Climate React” (reacting to room temperature and humidity) and added kWh and cost tracking in October 2026. Sensibo does not advertise a mode that follows PV surplus automatically; Enphase sells Sensibo controllers, but the pairing means manually matching AC use to the production shown in the Enphase app.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads FoxESS production and controls your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up FoxESS and Sensibo in Zerofy
1. Connect FoxESS
Zerofy connects to the FoxESS cloud: you log in with your FoxESS Cloud account and authorize access on FoxESS’s own screen.
- Make sure your inverter is online and registered in the FoxESS Cloud app.
- In Zerofy, choose FoxESS and log in with the FoxESS Cloud owner account.
- Confirm your devices on the FoxESS authorization screen.
Good to know: Use the owner account of the device. Installer and agent accounts don’t own the devices, so FoxESS shows “No Devices” and the connection fails.
2. Connect Sensibo
Zerofy connects to your Sensibo account with an API key; it can switch the air conditioner on and off, set the target temperature and let Autopilot run it on solar surplus or in Smart mode.
- Set up the Sensibo device in the Sensibo app.
- Create an API key at home.sensibo.com/me/api.
- In Zerofy, add Sensibo and paste the API key.

3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Sensibo-controlled air conditioner on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your FoxESS solar production.
About FoxESS and Sensibo
FoxESS – Fox ESS is a Chinese inverter and storage maker founded in 2019 and headquartered in Wenzhou. Homes typically have the single-phase H1/AC1 (2.5–6 kW) or KH (7–10.5 kW) hybrid inverters or the three-phase H3 Smart (5–15 kW), with EP, EQ or ECS batteries. Monitoring app: FoxCloud 2.0.
Sensibo – Sensibo was founded in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2013. Its controllers (Sky, Air, Air PRO) make existing air conditioners, mini-splits and air-to-air heat pumps smart by sending the same infrared commands as the original remote. Products: Sensibo Sky, Sensibo Air, Sensibo Air PRO (plus Room Sensor and Elements/Pure air-quality devices).
Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
