What Zerofy can do with FoxESS and PHNIX

In practice

• Autopilot isn’t available for PHNIX yet, so Zerofy won’t run your PHNIX heat pump on solar surplus automatically. You can see FoxESS production and PHNIX in one app and adjust the room temperature and flow temperature from there.
• Because Zerofy does not run PHNIX units on surplus automatically, put the heating or pool-heating window into the middle of the day with a schedule; pool heat pumps run mainly in summer, when midday PV output is highest.

What FoxESS and PHNIX offer on their own

FoxESS: FoxESS has its own R290 heat pumps (HP Series monobloc, HP BOX hydro module), controlled in FoxCloud 2.0, which lists a solar heating feature. The three-phase H3 Pro can switch an SG Ready heat pump through its dry contacts when feed-in exceeds a set start power.

PHNIX: PHNIX’s “PV Ready” function lets the heat pump adjust its compressor frequency to the available solar power, controlled by a home energy manager or, if there is none, by PHNIX’s own Smart Meter. A “Spot Time” mode works with grid prices (target temperature, maximum frequency, six daily timers), and the Heco series also has an SG Ready interface.

Zerofy connects the two: it reads FoxESS production and controls your PHNIX heat pump to match, together with your other devices in one app.

Setting up FoxESS and PHNIX in Zerofy

1. Connect FoxESS

Zerofy connects to the FoxESS cloud: you log in with your FoxESS Cloud account and authorize access on FoxESS’s own screen.

1. Make sure your inverter is online and registered in the FoxESS Cloud app.
2. In Zerofy, choose FoxESS and log in with the FoxESS Cloud owner account.
3. Confirm your devices on the FoxESS authorization screen.

Good to know: Use the owner account of the device. Installer and agent accounts don’t own the devices, so FoxESS shows “No Devices” and the connection fails.

2. Connect PHNIX

Zerofy connects to the PHNIX cloud with your PHNIX app login and shows the heat pump’s live status; you can set the room temperature and the water circulation temperature from Zerofy.

1. Connect the heat pump to the internet and register it in the PHNIX app.
2. In Zerofy, add PHNIX and log in with your PHNIX account credentials.

Good to know: Zerofy’s Autopilot does not yet run PHNIX heat pumps on solar surplus or dynamic prices; control from Zerofy is manual or by schedule.

About FoxESS and PHNIX

FoxESS – Fox ESS is a Chinese inverter and storage maker founded in 2019 and headquartered in Wenzhou. Homes typically have the single-phase H1/AC1 (2.5–6 kW) or KH (7–10.5 kW) hybrid inverters or the three-phase H3 Smart (5–15 kW), with EP, EQ or ECS batteries. Monitoring app: FoxCloud 2.0.

PHNIX – Guangdong PHNIX Eco-energy Solution Ltd. is a Chinese heat pump manufacturer based in Guangzhou (Nansha), founded in 2002. It makes air-to-water heat pumps for heating, cooling and hot water, hot-water heat pumps and swimming pool heat pumps, and exports about half its products, including to Europe. Products: Air-to-water heat pumps (Everest, Heco, GreenTherm Pro R290, HeatGreen), airExpert R290 all-in-one hot-water heat pump, full-inverter swimming pool heat pumps.
