FoxESS HEMS: TL;DR

Zerofy transforms your FoxESS PV system into a complete Home Energy Management System (HEMS). Monitor production, optimize self-consumption, and control your connected devices – all from one app. No additional hardware required.

About FoxESS

Fox ESS is a Chinese inverter and storage maker founded in 2019 and headquartered in Wenzhou. Homes typically have the single-phase H1/AC1 (2.5–6 kW) or KH (7–10.5 kW) hybrid inverters or the three-phase H3 Smart (5–15 kW), with EP, EQ or ECS batteries. Its monitoring app is FoxCloud 2.0.

What is a Home Energy Management System?

A HEMS (Home Energy Management System) helps you get the most out of your solar installation. It monitors your PV production in real-time and automatically steers connected devices like EV chargers, heat pumps, and smart plugs to maximize self-consumption.

With Zerofy as your FoxESS HEMS, you can:

  • Monitor real-time solar production and home consumption
  • Optimize self-consumption through intelligent device control
  • Save on electricity bills with dynamic tariff integration
  • Track your energy independence and CO₂ savings

Key Features

Real-time Monitoring

See live data from your FoxESS inverter: current production, consumption, grid feed-in, and battery status.

Smart Autopilot

Automatically control EV charging, heat pumps, and appliances based on solar surplus.

Dynamic Tariffs

Integrate electricity spot prices (Tibber, aWATTar, etc.) to optimize for cost savings.

What FoxESS offers on its own

Before connecting FoxESS to Zerofy, it helps to know what FoxESS offers on its own:

  • EV charging: FoxESS sells its own AC wallboxes. Paired with a FoxESS inverter and meter, FoxCloud 2.0 offers PV Linkage with a Green Mode (solar only) and an Economic Mode (solar first, grid keeps it at 6 A when solar is short), adjusting the charging current between 6 and 32 A.
  • Heating: FoxESS has its own R290 heat pumps (HP Series monobloc, HP BOX hydro module), controlled in FoxCloud 2.0, which lists a solar heating feature. The three-phase H3 Pro can switch an SG Ready heat pump through its dry contacts when feed-in exceeds a set start power.

How It Works

  1. Connect your FoxESS system – Zerofy connects to the FoxESS cloud: you log in with your FoxESS Cloud account and authorize access on FoxESS’s own screen.
  2. Add your devices – Connect your EV, charger, heat pump, or smart plugs
  3. Enable Autopilot – Let Zerofy automatically optimize for solar self-consumption
  4. Track your savings – Monitor your energy independence and cost savings

Good to know: Use the owner account of the device. Installer and agent accounts don’t own the devices, so FoxESS shows “No Devices” and the connection fails.
