Deye + Nibe: TL;DR
Yes, Deye and Nibe work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Deye system through Deye Cloud and controls your Nibe heat pump through the Nibe cloud. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with Deye and Nibe
| Solar data from Deye | Live values and history, new data every 5 min, including the battery |
| Connection to Nibe | Cloud – your Nibe account |
| Hot-water boost | Yes |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Hot water is the simplest heat store: Autopilot can use the hot-water boost of your Nibe heat pump to heat water in hours with surplus.
- A heat pump draws roughly 1–3 kW while running, which a typical Deye home system (5–12 kW) can cover on sunny days.
- Zerofy gets new Deye data every 5 minutes. Heat pumps shouldn’t switch often, so set a minimum runtime in Autopilot.
- Zerofy also shows your Deye battery, so you can see whether surplus goes into the battery or into the heat pump.
- Leave the normal hot-water comfort mode at a moderate level so the tank has headroom; a boost triggered on surplus then stores midday solar as hot water for the evening. EME 20 is not needed for this, since Zerofy reads the surplus from your inverter’s cloud.
What Deye and Nibe offer on their own
Deye: Deye hybrids have no SG Ready output. A heating rod or other load can be wired to the GEN port in Smart Load Output mode, but it switches only by battery SOC (e.g. on at 100 %, off below 95 %), not by measured surplus.
Nibe: NIBE’s own PV solution is the EME 20 communication module for S-series units (S1155, S1255, SMO S40, VVM S320/S325). It reads the inverter over RS485 Modbus RTU (SunSpec) and, under menu 4.2.2 “Solar electricity”, lets the heat pump raise room, hot-water or pool temperature when there is surplus; with an extra energy meter household consumption can be prioritised.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads Deye production and controls your Nibe heat pump to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up Deye and Nibe in Zerofy
1. Connect Deye
Zerofy connects to Deye Cloud with your Deye Cloud login and reads PV production, meter (consumption) and battery data.
- Register your system in Deye Cloud (web or the Deye Cloud app).
- In Zerofy, add an inverter, choose Deye and log in with your Deye Cloud credentials.
- Configure the meters: the grid meter as main meter (bi-directional or consumption), production as a sub meter of type production.
2. Connect Nibe
Zerofy connects to the myUplink cloud API with your myUplink login (OAuth) and shows the heat pump as a Space Heating and a Hot Water Tank device; Autopilot controls the hot-water boost.
- Register the heat pump in myUplink and make sure it is online.
- Activate a myUplink Premium subscription for the system.
- In Zerofy, add Nibe and log in with your myUplink credentials.
- Enable Autopilot (Solar or Smart mode) for the Hot Water Tank.
Good to know: Without a myUplink Premium subscription the API access does not work. Zerofy currently steers only the hot-water boost; flow-temperature control is not available yet.
3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Nibe heat pump, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Nibe heat pump on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Deye solar production.
About Deye and Nibe
Deye – Deye (Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology, Ningbo, China) is best known for low-voltage hybrid inverters such as the three-phase SUN-5K to SUN-12K-SG04LP3-EU, used with 48 V batteries. It also makes SUN-M60/80/100G4 microinverters (600–1000 W) for balcony and small rooftop systems. Monitoring app: Deye Cloud.
Nibe – NIBE is a Swedish heat pump maker (Markaryd). Homeowners typically have a ground-source S1155/S1255, an air-to-water heat pump with an SMO or VVM indoor unit, or an exhaust-air F730/F750, all connected to the myUplink cloud. Products: S1155, S1255, S2125 with SMO S40 / VVM S320, F-series (F1155, F1255, F2120, F730, F750).
