Hoymiles + Nibe: TL;DR
Yes, Hoymiles and Nibe work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Hoymiles system through S-Miles Cloud (S-Miles app) and controls your Nibe heat pump through the Nibe cloud. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with Hoymiles and Nibe
| Solar data from Hoymiles | Live values and history, new data every 15 min |
| Connection to Nibe | Cloud – your Nibe account |
| Hot-water boost | Yes |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Hot water is the simplest heat store: Autopilot can use the hot-water boost of your Nibe heat pump to heat water in hours with surplus.
- A heat pump draws roughly 1–3 kW while running. A Hoymiles balcony system covers only a small part of that, a rooftop system (Hoymiles systems range up to 10 kW) much more on sunny days.
- Zerofy gets new Hoymiles data only every 15 minutes, so the heat pump reacts to clouds with some delay. A slightly higher activation threshold and a minimum runtime in Autopilot keep it steady.
- Leave the normal hot-water comfort mode at a moderate level so the tank has headroom; a boost triggered on surplus then stores midday solar as hot water for the evening. EME 20 is not needed for this, since Zerofy reads the surplus from your inverter’s cloud.
What Hoymiles and Nibe offer on their own
Hoymiles: On the three-phase HiOne all-in-one storage system (G3), Hoymiles has a dry contact (DO1) for SG Ready heat pumps, but the manual (January 2026) lists heat pump control as “coming soon”. Hoymiles microinverters have no heating control.
Nibe: NIBE’s own PV solution is the EME 20 communication module for S-series units (S1155, S1255, SMO S40, VVM S320/S325). It reads the inverter over RS485 Modbus RTU (SunSpec) and, under menu 4.2.2 “Solar electricity”, lets the heat pump raise room, hot-water or pool temperature when there is surplus; with an extra energy meter household consumption can be prioritised.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads Hoymiles production and controls your Nibe heat pump to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up Hoymiles and Nibe in Zerofy
1. Connect Hoymiles
Zerofy connects to the Hoymiles S-Miles Cloud with your S-Miles account and reads your PV production.
- If your installer hasn’t set up your plant yet, register it in the S-Miles Installer app (use DIY mode if you install it yourself).
- In Zerofy, add an inverter, choose Hoymiles and log in with your S-Miles credentials.
- Use Autopilot (Solar Mode) to switch devices on solar surplus.
Good to know: Zerofy reads PV production only from Hoymiles, not grid meter or battery data, and stores the power history in 15-minute steps (5 minutes for most other brands).

2. Connect Nibe
Zerofy connects to the myUplink cloud API with your myUplink login (OAuth) and shows the heat pump as a Space Heating and a Hot Water Tank device; Autopilot controls the hot-water boost.
- Register the heat pump in myUplink and make sure it is online.
- Activate a myUplink Premium subscription for the system.
- In Zerofy, add Nibe and log in with your myUplink credentials.
- Enable Autopilot (Solar or Smart mode) for the Hot Water Tank.
Good to know: Without a myUplink Premium subscription the API access does not work. Zerofy currently steers only the hot-water boost; flow-temperature control is not available yet.
3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your Nibe heat pump, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your Nibe heat pump on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Hoymiles solar production.
About Hoymiles and Nibe
Hoymiles – Hoymiles (Hangzhou, China) is one of the largest microinverter makers. In Europe it is best known for balcony systems such as the HMS-800W-2T (switchable 600/800 W) with the MS-A2 balcony battery, and it also sells HYS/HYT hybrid inverters with home batteries. Monitoring app: S-Miles Cloud (S-Miles app).
Nibe – NIBE is a Swedish heat pump maker (Markaryd). Homeowners typically have a ground-source S1155/S1255, an air-to-water heat pump with an SMO or VVM indoor unit, or an exhaust-air F730/F750, all connected to the myUplink cloud. Products: S1155, S1255, S2125 with SMO S40 / VVM S320, F-series (F1155, F1255, F2120, F730, F750).
Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
