Automatically control your devices when solar production exceeds consumption.
Dynamic Tariffs
Optimize for electricity prices. Charge or run devices when rates are lowest, and use solar when prices are high.
Cloud Integration
No hardware required. Connect your Hoymiles and myStrom via cloud APIs in minutes.
Hoymiles + myStrom: TL;DR
Yes, Hoymiles and myStrom work together in Zerofy. Zerofy reads your Hoymiles system through S-Miles Cloud (S-Miles app) and controls your myStrom switch through the myStrom cloud. Smart mode also follows dynamic electricity prices and solar forecasts. No extra hardware needed.
What Zerofy can do with Hoymiles and myStrom
| Solar data from Hoymiles | Live values and history, new data every 15 min |
| Connection to myStrom | Cloud – your myStrom account |
| Switch on and off | Yes |
| Power history | Yes |
| Use as balcony solar meter | Yes |
| Autopilot: Solar mode | Yes |
| Autopilot: Smart mode (tariffs and forecasts) | Yes |
In practice
- Solar mode switches your myStrom switch on when there’s surplus, following your priority order and minimum runtime. Smart mode instead runs for a set number of minutes within the hours you allow.
- A myStrom plug can also measure a balcony solar system: set it as balcony solar meter in Zerofy.
- Even a small Hoymiles system (typically 0.8–10 kW) covers plug loads such as a dehumidifier or an e-bike charger on sunny days.
- Zerofy gets new Hoymiles data only every 15 minutes, so switching reacts to clouds with some delay. A slightly higher activation threshold and a minimum runtime in Autopilot keep it steady.
- If you have a plug-in balcony PV system, plug it into a WiFi Switch and set that switch as balcony solar meter in Zerofy, so its production is counted in your energy flows.
What Hoymiles and myStrom offer on their own
Hoymiles: The HiOne can switch a smart load on its GEN port when PV feed-in exceeds a set load power (Intelligent Mode), with a minimum running time.
myStrom: The myStrom app records mini-PV production measured by a WiFi Switch every 30 seconds, and “Solar Actions” and “Power Actions” can switch other myStrom devices on these values, e.g. allow e-bike charging from 200 W; this needs the myStrom PLUS subscription (EUR 3.49/year). Whole-house surplus control comes from energy management partners such as Solar Manager or clever-PV, not from an inverter maker.
Zerofy connects the two: it reads Hoymiles production and controls your myStrom switch to match, together with your other devices in one app, with dynamic tariffs and forecast-based Smart mode.
Setting up Hoymiles and myStrom in Zerofy
1. Connect Hoymiles
Zerofy connects to the Hoymiles S-Miles Cloud with your S-Miles account and reads your PV production.
- If your installer hasn’t set up your plant yet, register it in the S-Miles Installer app (use DIY mode if you install it yourself).
- In Zerofy, add an inverter, choose Hoymiles and log in with your S-Miles credentials.
- Use Autopilot (Solar Mode) to switch devices on solar surplus.
Good to know: Zerofy reads PV production only from Hoymiles, not grid meter or battery data, and stores the power history in 15-minute steps (5 minutes for most other brands).

2. Connect myStrom
Zerofy connects to your myStrom account; it switches the plugs on and off, records their power every 5 minutes and lets Autopilot run them on solar surplus or in Smart mode.
- Set up new myStrom plugs in the myStrom app.
- In Zerofy, add myStrom and link your myStrom account.

3. Turn on Autopilot
In Zerofy, open your myStrom switch, turn on Autopilot and choose Solar – or Smart to also use dynamic tariffs and forecasts. Set the priority, activation threshold and minimum runtime.
Dynamic tariffs
Zerofy can also run your myStrom switch on dynamic electricity prices (EPEX Spot or Nord Pool, e.g. Tibber or aWATTar) or on a fixed time-of-use tariff. Smart mode combines those prices with forecasts of your household consumption and your Hoymiles solar production.
About Hoymiles and myStrom
Hoymiles – Hoymiles (Hangzhou, China) is one of the largest microinverter makers. In Europe it is best known for balcony systems such as the HMS-800W-2T (switchable 600/800 W) with the MS-A2 balcony battery, and it also sells HYS/HYT hybrid inverters with home batteries. Monitoring app: S-Miles Cloud (S-Miles app).
myStrom – myStrom AG is a Swiss company based in Zurich, founded in 2011. Its WiFi Switch is a smart plug for up to 16 A that switches appliances and measures their power, and it is also used to measure the output of plug-in balcony PV systems. Products: myStrom WiFi Switch (CH and Schuko versions), WiFi Switch Zero, WiFi Switch Ex (outdoor, Wieland connector for mini-PV).
Manufacturer information last checked: October 2026.
