Volkswagen e-up! 18.7 kWh (2013)

Range test

Volkswagen e-up!

18.7 kWh (2013)

The Volkswagen e-up! with the 18.7 kWh battery managed only 100 km at 90 km/h in the winter test, one of the shortest ranges in the database. It felt very basic, with hard plastics, a tiny screen and cramped rear seats, though the boot turned out deeper than expected. At 120 km/h the range fell to about 75 km, yet consumption rose less than expected and the battery still delivered almost as much energy. Even after hard driving and repeated fast charging it still charged at around 30 to 35 kW, without the heat-related slowdown known from the Leaf.
