Volkswagen ID.3
Pure 55 kWh (2021)
The Volkswagen ID.3 Pure, the entry version with the smallest battery, used just 137 Wh/km at 90 km/h in the summer test and covered 316 km. With 43.5 kWh of usable energy measured, it proved slightly more efficient than the small PSA cars, even at 120 km/h. At 1,820 kg it is still heavy, and its lower pack voltage limits it to about 42 to 43 kW on a 50 kW charger. The 1,000 km challenge works out at just over 11 hours, fast for such a budget car.
