Mercedes-Benz EQE
AMG 53 4Matic+
On winter tyres at around 12 °C, the Mercedes EQE AMG 53 4Matic+ reached an estimated 478 km at 90 km/h in the test, using 187 Wh/km. The key finding: this most powerful EQE consumed about the same as the AMG 43 tested earlier, so choosing the faster version costs practically no range. The car switched between the front and rear motor depending on load, and it proved very quiet and comfortable despite the winter tyres, with smooth lane-centring. It remains a puzzle why the bigger, heavier EQS is more efficient.
