Growatt HEMS: TL;DR

Zerofy transforms your Growatt PV system into a complete Home Energy Management System (HEMS). Monitor production, optimize self-consumption, and control your connected devices – all from one app. No additional hardware required.

About Growatt

Growatt (Shenzhen Growatt New Energy, China, founded 2011) makes string and hybrid inverters such as the MIN TL-X and MIN TL-XH series, the NEO microinverters and the NOAH 2000 balcony battery. Its own ecosystem, GroHome, adds the THOR wallboxes, APX HV batteries and the GroBoost heater controller. Its monitoring app is ShinePhone.

What is a Home Energy Management System?

A HEMS (Home Energy Management System) helps you get the most out of your solar installation. It monitors your PV production in real-time and automatically steers connected devices like EV chargers, heat pumps, and smart plugs to maximize self-consumption.

With Zerofy as your Growatt HEMS, you can:

  • Monitor real-time solar production and home consumption
  • Optimize self-consumption through intelligent device control
  • Save on electricity bills with dynamic tariff integration
  • Track your energy independence and CO₂ savings

Key Features

Real-time Monitoring

See live data from your Growatt inverter: current production, consumption, grid feed-in, and battery status.

Smart Autopilot

Automatically control EV charging, heat pumps, and appliances based on solar surplus.

Dynamic Tariffs

Integrate electricity spot prices (Tibber, aWATTar, etc.) to optimize for cost savings.

What Growatt offers on its own

Before connecting Growatt to Zerofy, it helps to know what Growatt offers on its own:

  • EV charging: Growatt’s THOR wallboxes have a PV Linkage mode that charges from surplus solar, with or without topping up from the grid. It needs a CT or an Acrel or Eastron meter wired to the charger, and the minimum charging power is 1.4 kW single-phase or 4.1 kW three-phase.
  • Heating: The GroBoost heater controller sends surplus solar to immersion heaters, adjustable from 0 to 10.8 kW across three outputs (three 3.6 kW single-phase heaters or one three-phase heater). Growatt’s own product pages don’t mention control of heat pumps or SG Ready.
  • Other loads: The GroPlug-X smart plug works with the NOAH 2000 and NEXA 2000 balcony batteries: it measures the load plugged into it so the battery can adjust its discharge.

How It Works

  1. Connect your Growatt system – Zerofy connects to the Growatt cloud: you log in with your ShinePhone credentials.
  2. Add your devices – Connect your EV, charger, heat pump, or smart plugs
  3. Enable Autopilot – Let Zerofy automatically optimize for solar self-consumption
  4. Track your savings – Monitor your energy independence and cost savings

Good to know: Inverter data is supported; battery and meter data may only be partly available depending on the system. Battery control and using the battery in Autopilot are listed as coming soon for Growatt.
