Volvo XC40 Recharge
Twin 78 kWh AWD
The Volvo XC40 Recharge Twin was tested at night in northern Thailand at around 20 °C, where it covered 405 km at 90 km/h. At 185 Wh/km it was slightly more efficient than in Norway but still came across as thirsty, and at 120 km/h the range fell below 300 km. After 15,000 km the battery still gave about 75 kWh, so degradation looked small, but the short wheelbase made the car bounce on uneven concrete roads. In comparison, a Tesla Model Y beats it on range, charging and consumption; the XC40's appeal is its physical buttons.
