NIO EL7
100 kWh
At a mild 10 °C, the NIO EL7 100 kWh used 200 Wh/km at 90 km/h, good for 432 km and clearly more efficient than the bigger ES8. It came across as quiet, comfortable and solid, but the lane assist kept weaving and veered towards the centre at merges, and the power output pulsed at constant speed. The battery delivered 86.3 kWh, less than the almost 88 kWh from an ES8 a year earlier, a gap put down to degradation in the battery-swap pool. Fast charging ramped up slowly to about 120 kW and then stayed fairly flat.
