Range test

BMW iX1

xDrive30

In a winter-season test at a mild 11 °C, the BMW iX1 xDrive30 used 160 Wh/km at 90 km/h, giving a range of 388 km. Despite all-wheel drive it was slightly more efficient than the rear-wheel-drive iX3, and its range matched the Volvo XC40, though it falls well short of the Tesla Model Y. The ride felt comfortable yet sporty, and the Harman Kardon sound system earned 9 out of 10. One drawback is the low pack voltage, which apparently limits it to about 35 kW on 50 kW chargers; on a high-power charger it peaked at around 127 kW.
