Renault Zoe ZE50 52 kWh

Range test

Renault Zoe

ZE50 52 kWh

The Renault Zoe ZE50 used only 147 Wh/km at 90 km/h at around 3 °C, one of the most efficient results in the winter tests. Range was still only about 290 km, as just 42.5 kWh or so came out of the battery, several kWh less than expected. Rather than a faulty module, the suspected cause is that the battery, apparently air-cooled, stays too cold without a liquid loop to warm it, and the provisional conclusion was that the Zoe is not great in winter. Adaptive cruise control was also missed, as even this top-spec car lacked it.
